Baton, Rouge, La. (Capitol Building). Louisiana's 34-story Capitol, is situated on the bank of Old Man Mississippi River at Baton Rouge. Completed in 1932, the building was constructed during the governorship of Huey P. Long. Ironically, the by-then United States Senator was assassinated, less than three years after it was finished, in a corridor of the Capitol he had built.
