Great Britain - General (Palace guards). Bearskin hatted Coldstream Guardsmen, on sentry duty outside Buckingham Palace yesterday, carry old Lee-Enfield rifle, left, and the new Belgian self-loading rifle which has been chosen to replace the traditional Lee-Enfield. Men on guard are from the First Battalion of the Coldstream Guards. The new rifle has been generally adopted by North Atlantic Treaty Organization nations.
