Washington, District of Columbia, Blue Room. The redecorated Blue Room of the White House, opened for pictures today, now has striped cream-colored satin covering the walls. Drapes are in traditional blue as are gilt side chairs and Empire Savonnerie carpet. New chandelier is in keeping with the Empire period of President Monroe as are the other room furnishings.
