Eight members of the United Nations Security Council raise their hands in a vote that approved a United States motion to keep on discussing North Korean aggression, rejecting a Russian attempt to have consideration of admission of Red China placed ahead of it on the agenda. Seated at table, starting at upper right: Dr. Alberto I. Alvarez, Cuba; Dr. Tingfu E. Tsiang, China; Dr. Ales Bebler, who abstained, of Yugoslavia; Warren Austin, United States; Sir Gladwyn Jebb, United Kingdom; C.E. Zinchenko, assistant secretary general of Security Council, counting votes; Jakob A. Malik, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, president, who voted against resolution; Secretary General Trygve Lie; Arne Sunde, Norway; Sir Bengal Narsing Rau, who abstained, of India; M. Jean Chauvel, France; Mahmoud Bey Fawzi, Egypt; and Dr. Antonio Quevedo, Ecuador. Vote was 8-1.
