1949 Press Photo Author Irving Stone with Wife and J.M. Whistler Painting

Stone, Irving (and wife) Author: Beverly Hills, California: Returning from a vacation trip to Europe recently Author Irving Stone and his wife Brought with them an original painting by the great American artist, J.M. Whistler. Appraised by authentic experts at a minimum worth of $5,000. It was purchased in Brussels, Belgium, for $40.00 by Mr. Stone. The art treasure was discovered by Mrs. Stone while prowling through an antique junk shop. The piece, painting of a sailing ship at sea, was restored to its original gorgeous coloring and now hangs in the stone home. Photo shows the author and wife holding painting.
