The pearl harbor investigating committee today heard testimony that Gen Hugh A Drum, military adviser to Gov Thomas Dewey of New York was told in 1942 that the United States had decoded a Japanese war warning three days before the attack on Hawaii, Col Otis K Sadtler, army signal officer in 1941, testifies that he told Drum the "whole story" in 1942 of how the navy had intercepted and decoded what was believed to be a genuine "winds" code war warning from Tokyo. Photo shows Col Otis K Sadtler as he appeared before the committee today
