Description
Washington, D.C.: Two policemen who many years ago patrolled the toughest beats in Washington, D.C., are now the tops in their profession with a reputation for being the "most diplomatic" police officers in the country. They are Lieutenant Ernest Seaman (left), and Captain Lawrence Dalrymple who guard the portals of the White House and who are in command of the White House police force. Captain Dalrymple is first in command. Their job is to ward off excitement and trouble, keep out the wrong people, let in the right people, and give everyone a correct and pleasant answer. They never forget a face that needs remembering. No matter what the trouble they always used tact, politeness and diplomacy.

Photo is dated 1935.

Photo measures 8.5 x 6.75 inches.
