Description
Pasadena, California: The time: 1926. The scene: New York. The star: Young Viscount de Kergoet, son of a Parisian banker, just arrived to make his mark. That's the setting for a Depression Drama with a unique ending. He made money as a bond salesman, acquired a Park Avenue socialite wife. Came hard times - he lost money and wife, and fled to the Pacific Coast. He married again, unsuccessfully tried again to restore his fortune in his usual occupation. Desperate, he wrote a recommendation for himself as Rene George Varlet, the name he has lived under for years, on his viscount's stationery. It brought him a position as butler in an exclusive Pasadena home. Photo shows: Viscount de Kergoet in his serving uniform.

Photo is dated 1935.

Photo measures 6.5 x 8.5 inches.
