Washington, D.C.: Mrs. John Nance Garner, wife of the picturesque Congressman from Texas, who has been the Congressional adviser and secretary to the man who will be selected as the next Speaker of the House of Representatives, should the Democrats gain control of the House. Mrs. Garner has accompanied her husband to the Capital this year because, as Mr. Garner says, "I've got to have her along to pay the bills." Mrs. Garner is handling the shipment to Washington of a huge supply of pecan nuts in which her husband takes almost as much delight as he does in politics.
