In the midst of blazing world-wide reaction to his decision on General MacArthur, President Truman smiles cheerfully in his office, beginning his 7th year in office. Mr. Truman stepped up from the Vice-Presidency 6 years ago when FDR died. Latest blast against firing of MacArthur came from Sen. Joseph McCarthy. The Milwaukee Journal quoted the Sen as saying that "Treason in the White House" has been accomplished.
