13 year old Mervyn Herbert, nephew of Mrs Kermit Roosevelt and grandson of Lord Carnavan is shown with Mr and Mrs Kermit Roosevelt just before the takeoff of the American Clipper on its flight to Foynes, Ireland, its last stop. Young Herbert is bound for England, He had been vacationing at a Boys camp in this country. The Roosevelts were at Port Washington to see the young passenger son of the Hon Mrs Mervyn Herbert off his Transatlantic hop.
