Left: Former Kansas City, Mo., attorney Harry Schwimmer is shown here today after he surrendered to authorities on a charge of conspiring to defraud the government. He was freed in $30,000 bail to await removal proceedings. Schwimmer T. Lamar Caudle and Matthew Connelly were indicted in St. Louis on December 1. Right photo: Marion Hardesty, managing director of the Interstate Commerce Commission resigned today after serving only seven weeks on the $15,000 a year job. The resignation was dated to be effective February 1. ICC said Hardesty is actually leaving his job tomorrow.
