General Lindley Camp, leader of 500 of Georgia's National Guardsmen (left) holds an early morning conference with A.F. Selman. president of the Rome Stove Works after the troops arrived to break the foundry strike. The strike had been in effect since July first and picket lines had been so tight that even parcel post packages could not penetrate them into the factories. The Guardsmen disperse the pickets and paved the way to a resumption of operations.
