Description
Major General Willard W. Irvine, Army representative to the Continental Air Command, will head the Defense Department's Army Air Defense Command to fit into the overall U.S. Air Defense System in event of war. The new unit will have its headquarters here in Washington and in event of war the new command would throw into the nation's over all air defense system the anti aircraft units now assigned to the six armies in the United Sates.
