State Senator W. E. Martin of North Dakota, pictured in a speaking pose recently although approaching his eightieth birthday, the senator is probably the stormiest petrel of the state legislature. His latest "bomb" was his move recently that forty three states secede from the union, leaving five Eastern States to themselves. Among the five states he wishes o avoid are New York, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
