To be first passengers on Trans-Atlantic Flight. When the Yankee Clipper plane makes its first commercial flight to Europe, Mr. and Mrs. Griffith Bailey Coale, shown here, will be on board as passengers. Mrs. Coale, made her reservation more than seven years. Mrs. Coale, then Miss Elizabeth Manning, and her friend Mrs. Sherman Post Haight, made their applications on an "if and when" basis after flying with Colonel Charles A. LIndbergh on the maiden commercial voyage of the American Clipper between Colombia and Miami in November, 1931. Coale asked for his reservation in 1933 after his marriage to Miss Manning, daughter of Bishop William T. Manning. Mrs. Haight will also be in the Yankee Clipper's first cargo of passengers.
