C-5A Will Deliver Army Division To Front Areas: This is an artist's conception of how the U. S. Air Force's C-5A will raiise its unique visor nose and off-load a tank, trucks, and jeeps on relatively unprepared fields in forward areas. Straight-through loading is provided, with vehicles driving on through the huge aft cargo door and off through the visor nose opening. Lockheed-Georgia Company is developing the C-5A and General Electric is developing the new TF39 fanjet engines, under direction of the Air Force System Command's Aeronautical Systems Division. The C-5A is schedule to be delivered to the Military Airlift Command in 1969.
