Robert Clements, Long Beach, California, realtor, resigned co founder of the Townsend Old Age Pension Plan, was photographed with Mrs. Clements, as Mr. Clements waited to be called as first witness at the opening of the Townsend Plan probe by a Special House Committee. Mr. Clements was on the stand for more than four hours during which he was subjected to a searching questioning by James Sullivan, Counsel for the Committee.
