Sherman Adams turns toward photographers with a half smile as he leaves a Washington broadcast studio after resigning his post as President Eisenhower's top assistant. Adams announces his resignation in a nationwide radio and television speech. After the broadcast, he entered his automobile and turned toward photographers before driving home.
