Veteran driver Stanley Benham (L), of Lake Placid, NY, and his brakeman, James Bickford (R), of Saranac Lake, NY, bolted the world bobsled championships at Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, bringing into the open a smoldering feud among the American contestants there. They packed up and left for home after finishing third in the 2-man world title.
