1951 Press Photo Water Color Painting of the White House Broadcasting Room

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
White House broadcasting room will look like this. This is a black and white copy of a water color showing the Broadcasting Room, on the ground floor of the White House, as it will appear when renovations are completed at the Executive Mansion. The room, original kitchen of the building, will be used also as a conference room. Prominent in the room, which has vaulted ceilings and a stone fireplace at each end, will be a desk previously used on the second floor. A silk and linen Damask drapery will be used at the windows and a coarse textured hand tufted rug on the floor, both in mustard-gold color.

Photo is dated 1951.

Photo measures 9 x 6.5 inches.
