Press Photo Stone Relief Statue in Persepolis, Iran - sax28864

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
The ancient city of Persepolis, built by the Persian conqueror Darius 2500 years ago, still stands on the vast plain of Iran. Today, the stone statues, columns and walls, magnificent in their ruins, are drawing tourists to this remote region south of Teheran, capital of Iran, which is now linked by Pan Am Jet Clippers with the major cities of the world. The site is an easy side trip from the green oasis of Shiraz with its tropical gardens and gaudy bazaars.

Photo is undated.

Photo measures 8 x 10.5 inches.
