1988 Press Photo 17th century baronial house in Stirling, now hostel for youth

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Once a family home, this 17th century baronial house in the historic town of Stirling, close to the Scottish Islands, was host to Royal Guests including Charles II and James King II. Now the house, a short walk from Stirling 's famous castle, is one of nearly 360 youth hostels in which visitors to Britain can find an evening meal and a night's lodging for substantially less than a princely sun.

Photo measures 10 x 8 inches.

Photo is dated 05-08-1988.
