Description
Twin horses born about 11 pm Sunday night to Fine Point at Turning Point Stables in Novelty. Mark and Beccie Sackerlotzy own the farm where they breed and train hunter jumpers. According to Dr. Richard Novak, the vet who delivered the twins, the chances of healthy twins being born to a horse are now one in a million. Fine Point (the mare) had an ultrasound 30 days into her pregnancy. If the twins had been detected, the weaker one would have been aborted because it is considered too dangerous for the mare to carry both to term. Hi s phone number is 338-5139 The Sackerlotzys can be reached at 338-5209or 338-3665. The twins are Counter Point (the colt born first) and Straight To The Point (the frilly born second). The Sackerlotzys had blue and pink balloons flying from theiur mailbox on Music St. to advertise the birth of the twins.
