Description
Diane Dignan sets chokers behind a "cat" and as far as she's concerned it "sure beats being a secretary." The 1969 Oregon State University graduate (agriculture with a journalism minor which "makes me the only Theta Sigma Phi in the woods.") wants to be a forest engineer's side. The 24-year-old is getting her start as a choker setter for Crown Zellerbach working in the Clatsop managed forest near Seaside. "It's where everyone starts out", she explained during lunch break in the crummy with John Hayrynen, a Franklin Skidder operator, and John Stoneman, the cat-skinner Diane works with.

Photo measures 10.25 x 8 inches.

Photo is dated 11-15-1971.
