Description
Trini Camara, Peru's Gift to Portland TV. City Editor phones "What do you know about Peru?" he asks. "Its archeological ruins are magnificent, especially Cuzco and Machu Picchu," I reply, "It is also the homeland of Oswaldo and Rodrigo of Trader Vic's and the London Grill." "Glad to learn you're an expert," says the C. E. "I'll send back another magnificent Peruvian attraction." Into the office walks Trini Camara, Peru's Television Queen. I'd evidently been selected to interview her because Leverett Richards, The Oregonian's official girl watcher, was out on another assignment. "Thinking that this was eeven more interesting than archeology, I concentrated on communicating with the glamorous Miss Camara. She doesn't speak English, but is learning rapidly. Looking at her, I kept forgetting my Spanish phrases.
