Pont, Moore named Kodak Coaches-of-the-Year in balloting by 2,000 members of American Football Coaches Association New York, January 11 - Two of the nation's outstanding football coaches, one whose inspired team of sophomores won 9 of 10 games and another who closed out a 42-year career, today were named by the American Football Coaches Association as winners of the 1967 Coach-of-the-Year Awards. John Pont of Indiana won the major college award and Cecil (Scrappy) Moore of Chattanooga the small college award in balloting by more than 2,000 coaches, all members of the AFCA. Each winner was presented a large Coach-of-the-Year trophy, given every year since 1960 by Eastman Kodak Company.
