Description
A cheerful, gentle people led by a politically shrewd Buddhist monk are caught in the middle between the two giants of Asia. These are the Ladakhi and their spiritual and temporal leader, Lama Bakula, who live in the Himalayas between China's Sinkiang province, Tibet, and Kashmir. Their land is one of two disputed border areas where the soldiers of Mao Tse-tung and Jawaharlal Nehru have clashed.
