Sunday is the 12th anniversary of the birth of the Women Marines, so Sergeant Jo Ann Janco of the recruitment office is going to bake herself a cake to prove she's handy in a kitchen, too....Tess Crager's beam is because "Laurel Hills and Later," Dr. Pierce Butler's book, which she published via the Peter Pauper Press of Mt. Vernon, New York, got cited for its "handsomeness" as one of the 50 best books of 1954 by the American Institute of Graphic Arts; Tess's daughter, Deirdre Stanforth, did the illustrations.
