Brigadier General Edmund S. Hartshorn, national executive of reserve officers' affairs, shown second from the right in the background, spent the few minutes he had between trains here drinking New Orleans coffee. His hosts while he was in New Orleans were, left to right, Colonel T.O. Gottschalk, assistant chief-of-staff of the 87th Reserve Officers' division; Colonel A.M. Pierson, chief-of-staff of the 87th, and colonel Edward S. Brest, president of the Fourth Corps area Reserve Officers' association. General Hartshorn is returning from an inspection tip of the west coast.
