Description
"X" marks the man You've read several of Albert Goldstein's stories about the philosophic and mysterious Sergeant "X," veteran New Orleans policeman. "X" has emphatically refused use of his name or picture in each case. One story needed some kind of art so we sent Staff Artist Gus Levy over to Headquarters to make a sketch. This Sergeant "X" reluctantly agreed to. For the story on Page 12, we decided we just had to show you what he looks like, so Goldstein finally persuaded him to allow his picture to be taken. But his name is still secret. Of course, his pals on the force and friends and relatives can't miss. But for you other readers, he's still Sergeant "X." Sergeant Raymond Gorman

Photo is dated 1947.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
