Aboard an Air Force C-119 "Flying Boxcar" over Fort Bragg, North Carolina, PFC Joseph W. Hammer, center, of New Orleans and Private James D. Reynolds, right of Alexandria, line up for last minute instructions from their jump master, Major General Joseph P. Cleland, commander of the XVIII Airborne Corps. The parachute jump was made as part of Exercise Flash Burn, an Army maneuver including training int he tactical use of atomic weapons.

Photo is dated 1954.
