Astronaut Gordon Cooper receives telephoned congratulations from President Kennedy aboard the carrier Kearsarge yesterday after his safe return from a history-making journey 22 times around the world in his Faith 7 space capsule. After talking to Cooper, Kennedy told the nation the astronaut's feat was "one of the victories for he human spirit." Man at right is Dr. Richard Pollard.
