John P. Frey, President of the Metal Trades Department of the American Federation of Labor, who arrived here today from Washington, said that support by John L. Lewis head of the CIO of Wendell L. Willkie in the recent election was the "action of a defeated man." Regardless of the outcome of the election," Mr. Frey said, "Mr. Lewis would have had to resign his post with CIO anyway as there has been a split in CIO ranks and the only ones who support Lewis now are the Communists.
