A First District Police Officer tries to establish calm as two other officers handcuffed Pat Bryant Friday afternoon following a disturbance at a protest march over South Africa's apartheid policy. Bryant, a local photographer, was arrested on two counts of battery and one count of resisting arrest after a group of protesters attempted to enter the building at 408 Magazine.

Photo is dated 1984.
