Description
Alaska - A rain of abuse fell on W.H. Seward when he decided to buy Alaska from Russia for $7,200,000 in 1867. The eloquent secretary of state was vindicated, however, as a wealth of natural resources began to reveal one of the biggest real estate bargains in history. Alaskans celebrate that bargain now, 100 years later, in a year-long observance. Included is the Alaska '67 Centennial in Fairbanks, combining the heritage of the past and the wealth of the present to tell the success story of the nation's biggest state.

Photo is dated 1967.

Photo measures 9 x 7 inches.
