Description
The Algiers lock and canal, linking the Mississippi River and the Intracoastal waterway, will be dedicated next Friday. The lock and canal cost $14,900,000 and was constructed under the direction of the United States Corps of Engineers. The dedication ceremony will be held at the lock site seven miles below Canal St. It will start at 11:15 a.m. The public is urged to view the project.
