Cooling their heels Kamchatka, Russia: Children of the frozen north, these three youngsters wear furs and skins as protection against the cold at their home in Kamchatka, Russia. A bleak and frigid area once inhabited only by nomadic tribes, Kamchatka now is a modern settlement. The residents, turning from the skin tents of their ancestors, live in light, roomy houses and have a library, nursery and school.
