Walter P. Reuther, 62, President of the 1.6 million member United Auto Workers Union, was killed when a chartered jet plane crashed near the Pellston airport at Pellston, Michigan Saturday night. Reuther's wife and four other persons also were killed. There were no survivors in the crash. This is a 1970 file picture.
