Description
A cleanup crew uses pitchforks to load a truck with decomposing fish from the beach near Tampa, Florida, Sunday. Millions of fish have choked to death on uncontrollable blooms of red tide, a microscopic plankton with both plant and animal properties. It periodically blooms massively and releases a syrupy film to strangle marine life.

Photo is dated 1971.

Photo measures 9 x 8.25 inches.
