Cape Canaveral, Florida, November 30 - Trying for a pair of satellites - This Thor-Able-Star rocket blasts away from its launch pad today in an effort to hurl a pair of satellites into orbit about the earth. The Navy's 203-pound Transit III-A Navigation satellite and a 40-pound sphere to measure solar radiation are packaged in the nose cone.
