A general view of the national tabulation center of the Network Election Service--the big pool formed by AP, UPI, ABC, CBS and NBC to collectively gather and disseminate election totals for President, U.S. Senate, Governors and House of Representatives. Around the room are private telephone lines to state tabulation centers. In the background is a battery of teletypes through which totals are sent simultaneously to all pool members. Center is in the ballroom of midtown New York hotel.
