Description
At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Luci Baines Johnson and her father, the President of the United States will step out of the White House and into a waiting limousine. Off they will go to a great church standing on a hill in the capital's northeast sector. Thus will begin a ceremony that has happened only six previous times in American history: the wedding of a daughter of a President. At 19, Lucy is marrying Patrick J. Nugent of Waukegan, Illinois, 23, whom she met in June 1965. Photo shows main altar of National Shrine of Immaculate Conception.
