Description
A fourth section of the Central Asia-Center Transcontinental gas line, the largest natural gas pipeline in the Soviet Union, is shown under construction in the Karakum desert of southwestern Russia. The line will stretch nearly 2,000 miles upon completion and will carry natural gas from fields in the Russian republic of Turkmen into areas of European Russia as well as Czechoslovakia, Austria and other countries.
