Description
Robert C. Nisbet, 58, heads the road services department of the Automobile Club of Michigan, part of the vast network of AAA facilities that criss-cross the United States. He recalls waiting a full week before receiving his first call from a motorist in distress when he took the job in 1924. The AAA of Michigan now has a radio-equipped control center which handles about 800 calls a day during the winter.
