Description
George Meany, outspoken labor leader, points to one of his abstracts, entitled "Doodle on Parade," during the opening of an exhibit of his paintings in New York Thursday. Meany said that the idea for the painting came while he attended a boring meeting last year. "Painting is very relaxing," Meany said. "It's a wonderful way to forget...even about the economy."

Photo is dated 1972.
