AFL-CIO President George Meany announces at a Washington news conference today that machinery is in motion to raise a multimillion dollar war chest for the workers striking against the General Electric Company. The labor leader agreed with President Nixon's decision against federal intervention in the walkout by more than a dozen unions across the country.
