Confirming that he'll appear on television in October, but refusing to say what for, Senator Eugene J. McCarthy addresses a news conference at Kennedy Airport today after he arrived from a post-convention vacation on the French Riviera. The Colombia Broadcasting System said earlier that a representative of the Minnesota senator had asked to buy a half hour of prime television time. There was speculation that McCarthy planned to announce his support of Hubert H. Humphrey for president.
