William P. McCracken, right, the nation's first Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Aeronautics, receives the Wright Memorial Trophy from Thomas G. Lamphier, Jr., president of the National Aeronautic Association, for his service to aviation. The man posed prior to the annual Wright Brothers Memorial Dinner here tonight commemorating the world's first successful airplane flight by the Wright Brothers, December 17, 1903. MacCracken, now a Washington attorney, was appointed to the air post in 1926 by former President Herbert Hoover.
