Jack Lynch, prime minister of the Irish Republic, center with hat, is escorted past sign carrying demonstrators outside the Irish embassy in London, England September 6 as fighting between demonstrators and police broke out outside the embassy. Lynch just returned after nine hours of meetings with British Prime Minister Edward Heath at Chequers, Heath's country of residence. The Prime Ministers discussed ways to end the violence which has claimed 100 lives in Northern Ireland.
